Daydreams Made Real

"Black and white are absolute. They express the most delicate vibration, the most profound tranquility, and unlimited profundity." Shiko Munakata

Munakata could have easily been referring to the works of Joris Van Daele, a Canadian born photographer who finds as much inspiration from music and poetry as he does from the visual world of art. As articulate with words as he is with the camera Joris says it best when he states, 'my works are daydreams made real, expressions of all the thoughts, wishes, dreams and emotions that constantly course through my mind. Why nude? This is the vulnerable self, the self most of us are dissatisfied with.'
