Freedom of Expression

Mariana Castro is a woman of few words and believes her visual expressions speak much great volumes. It isn’t an uncommon attitude for an artist but unfortunately there are few visual creators who can stand by their own convictions. Mariana Castro is certainly not one of them.

DESPITE years of experience, Mariana still considers herself a student of photography. She still insists on using traditional film because somewhere in the digital process the work loses something that she cannot live without. For Mariana, the body and the camera are their own languages that happen to communicate with each other on occasion. Luckily she is there to document the exchange.
