LIKE MANY of the emerging talents in contemporary French photography, the cinema plays an important role in the work of Paris based Nicolas Guerin. A student of cinema at the Sorbonne, Guerin's passion for film was realised by a major series of portrait studies of great modern directors, taken at Festivals across the world. But celebrity portraits are only a small part of Guerin's oeuvre, which encompasses fashion and advertising assignments for Europe's leading magazines and newspapers. Now represented by the Corbis Agency, Guerin balances his commercial work with more personal projects and his perennial pursuit of the luminaries of world cinema.
