Leica X 3
Sharp Outlook

by JULIA SONK

Leica have introduced not one but three new lenses, Elmar-M 24mm, Summilux-M 21mm and Summilux-M 24mm, all of which are available from December.
Leica Elmar-M 24mm

THESE 24mm and 21mm lenses (21mm being a novelty for 35mm film and digital cameras) have had their optics enhanced to such an extend that photographers will need to ‘redefine wide-angle low light photography’.

What will come as a pleasant surprise is that where you would usually expect distortion to show up in the wide-angle shots, with these lenses, this will be less the case as the distortion and vignetting issues have been seriously tackled here.
