WITH a 35mm full frame, 24 megapixel CMOS sensor, it’s aimed at serious photo enthusiasts (with a reasonable pocket money allowance) that have grown out of the mainstream consumer models but don’t quite need to buy a top pro camera.
This is Sony’s breakthrough into the DSLR market (especially welcomed by those with Minolta lenses). Compared to A700, A900’s improvements include Dual BIONZ image processor, custom modes, 9 point AF, close to 100% optical viewfinder coverage and noise reduction.
